Welcome to NPU-R: Southwest Atlanta’s Voice

In 1974, the late Mayor Maynard Jackson established Atlanta’s Neighborhood Planning Unit system to ensure that every resident had a direct, active role in shaping the city's long-term growth and vision.

Today, as one of Atlanta’s 25 NPUs, NPU-R continues that legacy, serving as the official citizen advisory council to the Mayor and City Council to give Southwest Atlanta a direct seat at the table.

--------------------------

Carrying forward this 50-year history of community-led planning, NPU-R provides the official avenue to:

Guide Development: Review and make recommendations on zoning, land use, and urban planning matters specific to Southwest Atlanta.
Address Local Needs: Collaborate with neighbors to voice community concerns and create practical solutions.
Stay Connected: Receive direct updates from city government and local leadership.
